The Tughlak Dynasties(1320-1413)

Ghiyath al-Din Tughluq(1320-1325 A.D.)

  • Ghiyas-ud-din Tughluq was the founder of the Tughluq Dynasty.
  • Ghiyas-ud-din tughluq was succeeded by Muhammad-bin-Tughluq.

Muhammad-bin-Tughluq(1325-1361 A.D.)

  • Muhammad-bin-Tughluq also known as Juna Khan was the second ruler of Tughlaq Dynasty.
  • He shifted his capital from Delhi to Devagiri.
  • He introduced the copper currency system.
  • He was succeeded by Muhammad-bin-Tughluq.

Firuz Shah Tughlaq(1351-1388 A.D.)

  • Firoz Shah Tughlaq was the son of Ghiyas-ud-din Tughlaq’s younger brother.
  • He was the last ruler of Tughlaq Dynasty.

Later Tughlaq Ruler(1388-1413)

  • Ghiyath-ud-din Tughluq Shah
  • Sultan Abu Bakr Shah
  • Sultan Muhammad Shah

The Sayyad Dynasties(1414-1450)

Khizr Khan Sayyid(1414-1421 AD)

  • Khizr Khan was the founder of the Sayyid Dynasty in India.
  • He was succeeded by Mubarak Shah.

Mubarak Shah(1421-1434)

  • Mubarak Shah was the next ruler of Sayyid Dynasty. He was the son of Khizr Khan.
  • He was succeeded by two week rulers, Muhammad Shah(1434-1445 AD) and Alauddin Alam Shah(1445-1450 AD).

The Lodhi Dynasties(1451-1526)

Bahlul Lodhi(1451-1489 AD)

  • Bahlol Lodhi was the founder of Lodhi Dynasty.
  • He was succeeded by his son Nizam Shah under the title of Sultan Sikandar Shah in 1489.

Sikandar Lodhi(1489-1517 AD)

  • Sikandar Lodhi was the ablest of the three Lodhi rulers.
  • Sikandar extended his empire by conquering Dholpur, Chanderi.
  • He introduced ‘Gaz-i-Sikandari’ of 39 digits or 32 inches, for measurement of agricultural land.
  • He transferred his capital from Delhi to Agra.
  • Agra city was founded by him.
  • He started Jaziya and Pilgrim tax on Hindus.
  • He wrote in persian under the name of ‘Gulrukhi’.

Ibrahim Lodhi(1517-1526 AD)

  • Sikandar Lodhi was succeeded by his son Ibrahim Lodhi.
  • Daulat Khan Lodhi and Alam Khan invited Babur.
  • Babur killed Ibrahim Lodhi in the first battle of Panipat(1526 AD) and start the Mughal Dynasty In India.
